Every June, Tenaris celebrates the Roberto Rocca Education Day in honor of the founding member of the company and his dedication to education.
The special date serves as a reflection on the state of current educational curricula, while sharing innovative practices and trends for the design of new teaching methods. Last week, various events were held in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.
Tenaris Chairman and CEO Paolo Rocca led the education day event at the Roberto Rocca Technical School (ETRR) in Argentina on June 15. “Today we are remembering the 20th anniversary of the passing of my father. This school bears his name and embodies the spirit and values that guided his entire career. Education is the center of everything. It is the center of transformation. With education, you can reach any place in the world, you can go wherever you want and wherever your talent takes you," said Rocca.
Roberto Rocca scholarships for almost 600 students in Mexico and Brazil
In Mexico and Brazil, Tenaris leveraged education day events to award Roberto Rocca scholarships for 591 high school and undergraduate students selected based on academic achievements, economic need, leadership potential and community commitment.
In Pindamonhangaba, Vice-President of Brazil, Geraldo Alckmin, joined the celebration on June 16. “The industrial strength of the city of Pindamonhangaba is impressive, exporting 1.9 billion dollars per year, and Tenaris is part of it. This is employment, income, and opportunity. Congratulations to Tenaris for generating jobs and development, and for its commitment to high school and university students. For all the young students here, the future starts today” he said.
To mark the occasion in Mexico and Argentina, panels of renowned experts led discussions on a range of topics on education in the era of AI, employability, and community.
