Tenaris in Colombia has received the Iconic Vendor award from Ecopetrol in the Volunteering and Inclusive Social Investment category for its educational initiatives for the community: the Roberto Rocca Technical Gene and Roberto Rocca After School programs.
The award celebrates Ecopetrol's suppliers that promote sustainable development and support the local communities where they operate, driving economic and social growth. Tenaris offers educational support in the Nelson Mandela community, neighboring TuboCaribe, Tenaris’s pipe mill in Cartagena, Colombia, impacting 720 children.
“Being recognized by Ecopetrol as an Iconic Vendor is an opportunity to reaffirm our mission and purpose with our strategic partners in the communities. We are promoting development and growth opportunities through quality education,” said Tenaris Human Resources Manager in Colombia, Daniela Osorio.
The Roberto Rocca After School program offers students aged 6 to 15 years, attending elementary and high school, a non-formal program of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Art, with the aim of achieving integral development, basic literacy and socio-emotional skills. The Roberto Rocca Technical Gene focuses on quality technical education, preparing students to face the current challenges and needs of the industry.
