iRun Casing® consolidates in the US, surpassing 30 million feet of installed casing

iRun Casing® has been successfully implemented in over 1,100 wells across the US, with a strong focus on the Permian and Eagle Ford basins. Tenaris

Designed to support well integrity through real-time monitoring of casing installation, cloud-based iRun Casing® has become a valuable component in the ongoing evolution of Tenaris’s Rig Direct® mill-to-well service model.

Launched in 2021 as part of the digital tools designed to support well integrity, iRun Casing® connects directly to the drilling rig, processing large volumes of data to oversee casing installation operations, increasing safety, efficiency, and reliability on the rig site. This service enables customers to take advantage of Tenaris's core knowledge of OCTG performance for the most critical moment. To date, iRun Casing® has been implemented in over 1,100 wells across the US, focusing particularly on the Permian and Eagle Ford basins. This accounts for nearly 30 million feet of installed casing and more than 25,000 hours of streamed data.

"Our development teams have created the tool with customers' operations at the forefront of their engineering focus. iRun Casing® has consistently proven its value since its first commercial implementation, allowing us to engage with our customers' drilling teams on a deeper technical level. With direct data access, we can pinpoint best practices across rigs and facilitate knowledge transfer, enhancing decision-making for casing strings reaching target TD consistently. One of the most significant benefits is the reduction of non-productive time, achieved by guiding the optimal point to begin rotating casing and alleviating axial drag, minimizing pipe buckling and supporting well integrity," says Lucas Pigliacampo, Tenaris Vice President Oil & Gas Technologies.

Moreover, iRun Casing® minimizes the risk of lost lateral length and the associated lost production while preventing costly accessibility issues. It also reduces the engineering hours required for torque and drag workflow automation, streamlining the entire process.
