Subsea7 has awarded Tenaris the supply of pipes and coating solutions for the Búzios 9 project, operated by Petrobras in the Santos Basin in Brazil. Located 180 km (112 miles) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, the Búzios Field sits at a water depth of 2,000 meters.
The contract includes the provision of 102 kms of carbon steel pipes for risers and flowlines, as well as thermal insulation coating.
For this project, Tenaris will leverage its global manufacturing capabilities. The carbon steel pipes will be manufactured at Dalmine, Tenaris’s production center in Italy, while the coating process will be executed at Confab, located in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil.
“We are honored to have been chosen by Subsea7 once again. This new award reinforces our position as a trusted partner for key offshore projects, capable of offering a solid and comprehensive package, including both high-end pipes and coating solutions. We are excited to continue supporting Subsea7 and Petrobras in the development of the Brazilian Pre-Salt, one of the most challenging offshore environments worldwide,” says Renato Catallini, Tenaris President in Brazil.
