In line with its commitment to sustainability, Tenaris has introduced a new Sustainable Sourcing Policy. The policy outlines Tenaris's expectations for its suppliers and the high standards they must observe regarding ethical behavior, legal compliance, and health, safety, and environmental responsibilities. “We believe that it is our responsibility to work together with our suppliers to find collaboration opportunities, foster sustainable business practices, understand potential risks in our supply chain and provide support if this is needed,” explains Carolina Bengochea, Environment Senior Director.
According to the policy, suppliers are expected to comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and to build an organizational culture of transparency and integrity. They must maintain a work environment that is respectful of fundamental human rights and diversity, rejecting any type of discrimination. In addition, suppliers are expected to protect the environment, adopt appropriate governance policies and procedures to manage ethical risks, and implement measures to protect information and assets. “Tenaris's Sustainable Sourcing Policy represents a significant step forward in our efforts to build a more sustainable future,” concludes Bengochea.
