Elizabeth Pruet's career with Tenaris is a testament to the power of embracing challenges. With a background in industrial engineering, Elizabeth began her career at Tenaris in 2017 as a Global Trainee. Since then, she has had a series of roles that have shaped her career.
Elizabeth's passion for problem-solving and efficiency led her to industrial engineering - a field that combines the precision of mathematics with the strategic thinking of business. Tenaris’s Global Trainee Program offered an opportunity to rotate through various departments and eventually find her niche. "I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do, but the idea of rotating through different positions and gaining diverse experiences was very attractive," she said.
Elizabeth’s first role at Tenaris was in Rig Direct® services, designed to deliver the right materials, at the right time, directly from the manufacturing facilities to the rig sites. When Elizabeth joined, services within the U.S. operations were still in their early stages. "There were only six or seven people on the team when I started," she says. "We coordinated everything from the mill to the rig, making sure the material arrived on time and was correctly tracked."
Elizabeth’s current role as services design and development manager, focuses on the development and deployment of Rig Direct® services, such as the PipeTracer® technology, a technology designed to provide pipe traceability for Tenaris customers. "PipeTracer® is a game-changer for our industry," she says. "Before we had this system, customers had to manually track pipe measurements on rigs, which was time-consuming and prone to human error. Now, with PipeTracer®, customers can scan the pipes and receive real-time digital information about the material, such as its weight, length, and specifications."
As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field, Elizabeth has faced unique challenges, but she embraces them as opportunities to break barriers. "It’s not always easy, but I take it as a positive challenge to represent women in the field," she says. "There are more women out there today than when I first started, and I think it’s important to stand your ground and make your voice heard."
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Elizabeth is also a new mother. As she navigates the challenges of parenthood, she credits Tenaris with providing the flexibility she needs to thrive both at work and at home. "Being a new mom has been a big motivator for me," she says. "I appreciate the flexibility that Tenaris offers, which has allowed me to balance my career with my family life."
Looking ahead, Elizabeth is excited to continue her work in service development, particularly as digital transformation continues to reshape the industry. "The digital trend is always moving forward, and there’s always room for improvement," she says. "I’m excited to keep pushing boundaries and finding new ways to enhance our services."
