Dalmine, Tenaris’s seamless steel pipe mill in Italy, has completed the qualification process, obtaining accreditation for the supply of certified materials intended for the construction of nuclear facilities designed according to the ASME III standard.
The nuclear sector is currently at the center of global energy transition discussions, thanks to its role as a dispatchable, low-carbon source of secure energy. In line with increasing decarbonization efforts, more countries are investing in this technology to enhance energy security and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. However, accessing this market requires compliance with stringent international standards, which are essential to ensure material quality and facility safety—key elements for operating on a global scale.
The ASME certification is essential not only for supplying products in Europe but also internationally, both for the construction of new nuclear plants and for the maintenance of existing ones, in a sector that is increasingly integrating into the low-emission energy landscape.
